THE BEST SHOT STOPPER IN FIFA WORLD CUP 2K14

Hey Folks !....What a tournament we have had in Brazil so far...158 goals averaging 2.72 a game ,12 braces ,2 hat-tricks ,5 own goals and 1 'Suarez bite' as I write this blog.

It has been a tournament of 'stunning goals' and 'spectacular saves' . I promise to bring to you a complete series of blogs in which not 'me' but 'you' will be deciding the best player of the tournament in goal ,defence ,midfeild and attack.

So ,building from the back ,lets first talk about the 'Shot Stoppers' . We have already witnessed some really spectacular goalkeeping marvels from men between the sticks for their nation's rescue.

US may have lost against Belgium but had won the hearts  especially Tim Howard with his 82.4% save rate . Barack Obama himself calling Tim and Clint after the game to pay his congratulations to the US team on their strong campaign just proves this fact right.

Belgium has conceded least amount of goals in this tournament (Two) along with Costa Rica which makes Thibaut Courtois one of the genuine contenders for the Golden Glove and even more so after his 'cool & composed' saves against US in the later part of the match to help Belgium win the 'knock out'.

Manuel Neuer who has been in Germany's goal for quite some time now again showed us why he is regarded one of all time greats with his save percentage of 81.3% in this tournament.
He is a big reason for why Germany is one of the favourates to win the latest edition of FIFA World Cup.

Now its the turn of the man who stunned the world with his performance against Brazil and became an 'overnight hero'...yeah you got it right !....Guillermo Ochoa for Mexico.

Vincent Enyeama for Nigeria have produced an array of decent performances and actually remained unbeaten till the last match of the Group stage until Pogba and his own defender scored past him in the clash against France.

'Cesar saved Brazil' was the headline across the globe after his performance against Chile. Conceding 5 goals and keeping only 1 clean sheet might not be the best of records but considering the fact that he is the same player who was blamed for the disaster of 2010 for Brazil, shows he is a real fighter.

Even though France was knocked out of the tournament by Germany in the clash for a place in last 4, the French Captain has done his reputation 'no harm' keeping 3 clean sheets and conceding just 3 in 5 games.

'Last' but not 'least' by any means Keylor Navas of Costa Rica is one of the main force behind the 'fairy tail' story of Costa Rica in this tournament so far. He became his nation's hero after the Penalty Shoot-Out win against Greece only if he wasn't one for taking Costa Rica past the group stage as leaders after he frustrated Italy and England by keeping a clean sheet against them.

Thanks Guys for being such a good reader....don't forget to cast your vote in the poll section on the right for the 'best Goalie' in the tournament so far.....hope you liked it. Follow the page and stay tuned for the hunt of best defender, midfeilder and attacker in the 'Samba Party' in Brazil.
